New renewable energy tender in Spain for 3,300 MW

The Spanish government has announced a new tender for October 14th that foresees for the award of 3.3 GW of renewable energy.

The third vice president of the central government and minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, has announced a new auction that foresees the award of 3.3 GW of renewable energy that will be added to the 3,043 MW resolved in the auction of the past January.

The auction, which is scheduled for October 14, will be distributed as follows:

  • 500 MW for onshore wind power.
  • 700 MW for photovoltaic.
  • 600 MW in an ultra-fast installation quota for wind and photovoltaic plants that will have to be operational within a period of eight months from the award.
  • 300 MW for small photovoltaic installations, less than or equal to 5 MW, and with a strong local character.
  • 200 MW of a neutral nature.
