At least 800 MW will be put in bidding in Catalonia, Galicia, the Basque Country and Extremadura.
The Spanish Government launches the first tender for network access capacity at 8 nodes
The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, through the Secretary of State for Energy, has agreed to hold the first tender for capacity access for 8 nodes of the transport network.
This is the first of the tenders announced by the Government with the aim of ordering the massive installation of renewables in the electrical system, thus changing the award model that, until then, was granted by order of application. Up to 175 nodes will be the object of these tenders, which will be launched over a period of 10 months.
According to the resolution, it must be fulfilled that “the availability, release or outcrop of capacity in said nodes, as appropriate in each case, will be equal to or greater than 100 MW, in the case of nodes located in the peninsular electricity system, or equal and greater than 50 MW, in nodes located in non-peninsular territories”.
For this reason, throughout the tenders, a minimum of 17.5 GW could be reached, but the final figure will probably be higher.
The first nodes that will go out to the contest will be the following:
Node and tension level | Electrical System | Region |
ABRERA 220 | SEPE | Catalonia |
AMOREBIETA 400 | SEPE | Basque Country |
FOIX 220 | SEPE | Catalonia |
PUENTE BIBEY 220 | SEPE | Galicia |
SALLENTE 400 | SEPE | Catalonia |
SAN ESTEBAN 220 | SEPE | Galicia |
SOBRADELO 220 | SEPE | Galicia |
TORREJON 220 | SEPE | Extremadura |
